This list is based on the most successful companies back 2017-2019

1. BASF

The most classic example of “pure” applied engineered chemistry… BASF!

It is the biggest chemical producing company in the world with annual revenue reaching $69.1 billion

The German company, headquartered in Ludwigshafen, Germany is focused on industry-grade chemicals used in the automotive, construction, and pharmaceutical industries.

BASF is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, London Stock Exchange, and Zurich Stock Exchange. 

The company delisted its ADR from the New York Stock Exchange in September 2007. 

The company is a component of the Euro Stoxx 50 stock market index.

2. DowDuPont (Dow Chemical - DuPont)

Dow/DuPont has Revenue Increase $60.278 billion.

It is an American company formed by the merger of Dow Chemical and DuPont on August 31, 2017.

In 2017, the company merged into DowDuPont and in April 2019, the company’s parent, Dow Inc. was separated into a public company via a corporate spin-off.

Industries: oil and gas exploration, refining, petrochemicals. Chemical fibers, chemical fertilizers, and other chemical products

4. SABIC

SABIC is a Saudi diversified manufacturing company, active in petrochemicals, chemicals, industrial polymers, fertilizers, and metals

70% of SABIC’s shares are owned by Saudi Aramco

It is currently the second-largest global ethylene glycol producer

SABIC is also the world’s largest producer of methyl tert-butyl ether, granular urea, polycarbonate, polyphenylene and polyether imide.

It sales revenues of $50.4 billion, profits of $6.7 billion and assets standing at $90.4 billion

5. Ineos

Ineos is a privately owned UK multinational chemicals company headquartered in London, UK, and with registered offices in Lyndhurst, Hampshire, UK and London

6. Formosa Plastics

Is a Taiwanese plastics company based in Taiwan (formerly called “Formosa”) that primarily produces polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resins and other intermediate plastic products.

7. ExxonMobil (Chemical Branch)

Is an American multinational oil and gas corporation headquartered in Irving, Texas.

It is the largest direct descendant of John D. Rockefeller’s Standard Oil Company.

ExxonMobil Chemical is a petrochemical company which was created by merging Exxon’s and Mobil’s chemical industries.

Its principal products includes basic olefins and aromatics, ethylene glycol, polyethylene, and polypropylene along with speciality lines such as elastomers, plasticizers, solvents, process fluids, oxo alcohols and adhesive resins.

The company also produces synthetic lubricant base stocks as well as lubricant additives, propylene packaging films and catalysts.

The company was an industry leader in metallocene catalyst technology to make unique polymers with improved performance.

ExxonMobil is the largest producer of butyl rubber.

8. LyondellBasell

Is a public multinational chemical company with American and European roots, incorporated in the Netherlands, with U.S. operations headquarters in Houston, Texas, and global operations in London, UK.

The company is the largest licensor of polyethylene and polypropylene technologies.

It also produces ethylene, propylene, polyolefins, and oxyfuels.

9. Mitsubishi Chemical

It is a japanese company which merged as follows:

LG Chem is a Korean Chemical Company. it has its headquarters in Seoul, South Korea
