[Aspen Tech® Collab Series] I’m Making a Collab Series with AspenTech®!

Hi!

I’m making a video series collaboration with nothing more than Aspen Tech®

You may know them on softwares such as Aspen Plus and HYSYS, great Process Modeling Tools for the Process Engineer.

In these videos, we’ll cover all about Hydrogen: Economy, Technology, Design, Operation, Modeling & Simulation.

The goal of these videos is to engage with our audience, so be sure to comment and ask questions!

If everything goes according to plan, we’ll be launching more collaborative series on other exciting topics like Industrial AI, Industry 4.0, Big Data Models, Bioprocesses, and more.

For now… let’s stick to Hydrogen.

Here is a Roadmap of the video series, which will be available weekly.

Hydrogen Revolution

Let’s Talk about the main topic, Hydrogen Revolution…

This is all about hydrogen’s role as a clean fuel and energy source!

Let’s stick to the basics, giving you an overview of what’s to come in our upcoming videos.

Hydrogen Codes

One of my previous videos on Hydrogen. It talks about the Hydrogen Color Codes, explaining why these codes are assigned and how truly green and environmentally friendly they are.

About the H2 Economy:

In this video, we’ll dive into the importance of Hydrogen as a Fuel & Transition to Green Energies.

We’ll explore the key advantages and disadvantages of this industry, including:

  • CO2 emission reduction, Fuel versatility, Grid balancing, Transportation decarbonization, Relevance in Energy security & Geopolitical significance

Hydrogen Production

In this video, we dive into the most pressing challenges in the hydrogen value chain, starting with production.

We’ll cover the basics of:

  • Hydrogen storage, distribution, and utilization
  • Followed by an in-depth look at Grey, Blue, and Green Hydrogen, Steam Reforming for H2, and Water Electrolysis.

H2 from Electrolysis

Next, we delve into the fundamentals of hydrogen production through water electrolysis, covering the basics of PEM versus Alkaline processes. We’ll explore the cell model, mass transfer models, thermodynamics, electrochemistry, and the concept of overpotentials.

All this, in a very simple yet powerful dynamic manner.

Process Simulation – Demo Session

Finally, the moment we’ve all been waiting for: How to Simulate a Hydrogen Electrolyzer using AspenTech software.

Guided by David Tremblay, a Senior Engineer at AspenTech, we’ll have a demo session covering both the Rigorous Model and the Dynamic Model

Electrolyzer Q&A

All of this will be followed by a Q&A session.

Be sure to share your doubts, questions, and recommendations—we’re here to clear up any questions!

Final thoughts

We’ve put a lot of effort into creating this video series, and we’d love to hear your feedback!

If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for your support!

Stay tuned for more exciting videos on this topic!
